The general course leaves the choice of electives up to the individual. Five years of English, three years of social studies, two vears each of math and science and three years of Physical Education are required courses for all students. Curriculum A student entering York High in the eighth grade makes tentative plans for his high school courses when he enrolls. He may change his schedule at the beginning of any year thereafter, but he plans what he hopes to do. in the eighth grade. York offers three courses to all students, in two of these courses certain electives are required for those preparing to go to college or the apprentice school. The academic course consisting of three years of math, three years of science, and two years of foreign language in addition to regular courses is required.
