Fifteen percent ofthe upper third of the Senior class is eligible and ten percent of the Junior class. The members are chosen on the basis of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. The faculty decides upon the members. An induction ceremony is held each spring for the Sandusky County Schools which belong to the Hayes Chapter of the National Honor Society.
