The canidates must be in the upper third of their class, and only 15 per cent of the upper third are eligible. The members are chosen on the basis of Scholarship, Lcadershin, Service, and Character. The recommendation for member- ship is voted unon by the faculty. The induction ceremony is held each spring for the Sandusky County schools which belong to the Hayes Chapter of the National Honor Society. The ceremony this year was held at Townsend School on April 27, 19524. It is a new custom in the county to induct lOZ of the Junior Class in the Nation Honor Society each year. This year Loretta McConnell and Alice Cotterill were elected from the York Junior Class.
