We forthwith disclose what those the undersigned have be- queathed to certain fortunate individuals ----- To the Juniors we leave our shoes and seats in assembly with the hope that they fill them as well as we have in the last four years. To the Sophomore! we leave our dignity, our manners, our self re- pect, and our ability to get along with the teachers. To the Freshmen we just leave. I, Marjorie Andrews, leave my line to the fish. TI-In UINANIWOUS Ds LARATION or THU' SENIOR CLASS os 1953 When in the course of school events it becomes necessary for one class to dissolve the educational bonds which nave connected it to other classes and to assume the duties of citizenship for which their scnool life has prepared them, a decent respect to the opln ion of the other classes requires that they should transcribe this History leading up to their graduation de, the Senior Class of 1953, entered the halls of Y H S in the fall of 19h9, feeling a bit apprehensive, but eager to begin President, Janet White, Vice President, Janet Schwartz, Secretary, and Arnold Zepernick as Treasurer to govern us during our first session of school As our second session convened we elected as class officers, Arnold Zepernick, President, Sally Folk, Vice President, Janet White, Secretary, and Marjorie Andrews, Treasurer This year Dear Hayward came to join us As Junior Statesman we began our third session by electing Dean Hayward, President, Arnold Zepernick, Vice President, Janet Schwartz, Secretary, and Margorie Andrews, Treasurer In November ou'class received our long awaited class rings In December every one was in a dither as the curtain was about to open on our Junior Play, CLEHENTTNE Luci Frederick and Dean Hayward were inducted into the National Honor Society this year To climax our third session our class presented a banquet for the Senior Statesman, which was held at York School In 1953 we took our honor places as Senior Statesmen For our governing body we elected Lowell Meyer, President, Carroll Meyer, Vice President, Sally Folk, Secretary, and Luci Frederick, Trees urer With graduation nearing, we have been busy having our pict ures taken, ordering invitations, caps and gowns, and are looking forward to the Senior trip to climax our four years together And for the support of this Declaration and with a firm roll ance on what the future holds for us, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor The foregoing Declaration was, by order of the Senior Class, engrossed and signed by the following members: foe-Af! 5.4.44 'Ina-3.44, 7 'l '6 : '7y5 :a '3 '5 -5 91,40-I-44 fp' BAL? .
