The teacher supplements discussions by offering comments and guidelines to the students. Seminar courses present an opportunity for students to research areas oftheir interest and report on them to the class. YORK HAS ALWAYS TRIED TO FIND THE ED- UCATIONAL TECHNIQUES MOST BENEFICIAL and intriguing to the student. This year, seminar American history offered a new approach to students interested in learning concepts rather than facts. They. spent most of their time in the library, seminars, and discussion groups. It is in this way that the required subject, such as Amer- ican history or physical science, is constantly being modified and improved to capture the topic's essential principles.
