In this year with the district beset with problems of reterendo, austerity budgets, and mounting enroll- ments, his role was not an easy one, His untiring ettorts directed at solving some of these perplexing problems won him respect from faculty and community. The Board of Edu- cation in February named Dr. Allinghcim Superintendent ot District 88. He now has the full responsibility ot keeping two first class schools in operation in a district in which the problems will continue to grow. We join all those who wish him well and pledge their support in this most important work. Superintendent Dr. R. ri:m....sen Appointed Principal Taking a year's leave from the classroom and his work as Administrative Assistant, Mr. Bert H. Michelsen became Acting Principal at the beginning ot the school year. When Dr. Allingham was named Superintendent, the Board of Education appointed Mr. Michelsen to the office of Principal. Well known for his interest in high standards in all of York's endeavors, Mr. Michelsen has been largely responsible for maintaining Yorlc's leadership in spite of a multitude of obstacles during an extremely difficult year. To York's new principal, we give our congratulations and wishes for continued success.
