Downers was The WesT Suburban ConTerence champion in I949-50. As in The previous year, Coach Ferry had a small TurnouT. There were abouT 4l boys To selecT Trom Tor The game wiTh mighTy EvansTOn. ln preparing Tor This game, Coach lvlahood senT The line Through Their ,M Tough paces, and Coach KieTTer Took conTrol oT The elusive backs.
