Mussono, former Director of Srudenr Acriviries at York College, has been named Deon of Student Affairs. Dr. Mussono replaced Dr. Richard Coll, YCP ' s Deon of Student Affairs for fhie post nine years, who accepted a post os Vice-President of Stu- dent Affoirs at the Stote University of New York or Delhi. In his new position. Dr. Mussono is responsible for the management, coordination and supervision of the Division of Student Affairs at the College, which includes the plonning, direction and administration of oil facets of division services and programs. The YCP Division of Student Affoirs includes financial old, residence life, student activities, counseling ond testing, career plonning, placement, health services and intercollegiate othletics. Dr. Frank Mussono come to York College in February 1974 as the Director of Residence Life. He assumed the duties of Director of Student Activities in 1977, where he was responsible for oil non- ocodemic student progromming. Prior to his ex- perience Of York College, he served as a vocational evoluotor and coordinator of research at the Rehobilitotion ond Industrial Training Center of York. He holds o bachelor ' s degree in educotion from the Pennsylvania State University, o master ' s degree in counseling and personnel services from the University of Maryland, and his doctorate in community college administration from Novo University. [■ fedldent odue: lue Meard of f- roqreAAion President Robert V. losue INI T On November 18, 1982, the Horizon sroff was afforded on interview with President losue on the occasion of his fifth anniversary in office. Here, we met o man of many focets; a man of dreams and goals; and a man who has pledged himself to the continued progress of York College. As President, Dr. losue hos seen masters level work become a fact. The MBA program has grown strong. Under his direction, a four-year nursing curriculum has grown, ond this year, a computer information systems program has evolved. Also, o sound minors program has been developed. He continues to promote a strong, pre-determined core of liberal arts which is re- quired by all majors. In this area, he gives credit to the firm support he enjoys from the faculty. Also, Q further achievement during his term hos been the offiliotion of York College with other schools, notably Columbia University School of Engineering, American University, Villonovo, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. losue ' s goals for the future ore both personal and professional. Professionolly, he looks forward to additions to and the enhancing of the academic programs. His admitted personal gools ore to see York College more widely recognized throughout the country, and to see York College gain admission to the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference. There is also Robert losue the fund raiser. A strong endowment program is a must, and in this area he is a tireless performer. His goal — on endowment program that equals o one year budget. Finally there is Robert losue the teacher. He does not maintain on aloof distance from his students. Dr. losue still finds rime to reach o moth class every semester. He speaks with en- thusiasm of working with his students. Under the direction of Robert losue, York College will continue to grow; and it will be o ploce where the students may grow also. 12 President losue
