How does one measure the accomplishments of the man who steered the schools through the reefs of blackest depression and the shoals of World War Il? In school consolidation, in bus trans- portation,in curriculum improvements, George P, Barron was a man of vision, but no visionary. He put the Yoakum Schools on a sound financial and business basis, and there they have remained. He was a builders a man who has prac- tically replaced the school plant with which he started, Superintendent Barron chose dozens of excellent teachers, and backed them to the limit.
