v B4-- ' ; - f|i YESHIVA UNIVERSITY AMSTERDAM AVENUE 1B6TH STREET NEW YORK 33, N. Y. OFFICE OF THE ' « ' «• LI To the Yeshiva College Class of 1967: I am pleased to extend my sincerest congratulations to the Yeshiva College Class of 1967. May you have every success in your future endeavors. Yeshiva College stands as the embodiment of a concept at the heart of our faith: theory must be translated into practice, learning must lead to ethical conduct based upon the Divine laws of Torah. The pursuit of knowledge is fruitless unless it relates to the world around us. Without moral guidelines and constraints, life cannot achieve the spiritual fulfillment of which our sages spoke . Here you have studied the traditional disciplines of the yeshiva and the college, the teachings of Judaism and the liberal arts and sciences. More than this, you have experienced this duality so intensely that all elements merge into a unified approach to life . I trust that you will continue to grow from strength to strength in the consecrated service of our people and the further development of your innate capacities. Sincerely yours, 4 «»». 3 Samuel Belkin President June 12, 1967 13

Y E S H I VA UNIVERSITY YESHIVA COLLEGE id 186th Street New York, N.Y, 10033 (212) LOrraine 8-8400 OFFICE OF THE DEAN TO THE CLASS OF 1967 You had the privilege of living for four years in an atmosphere which fosters exchange of ideas and self -generated inquiry. The unique aspect of your education at Yeshiva College was that, in addition to majoring in one of the subjects traditional in an American liberal arts college, every one of you also took a major in the humanities in the form of Jewish studies, constituting at least one half of your total program. This dual program helped to sharpen your intellectual acuity and to raise the limits of your potential. The special nature of your morning studies reinforced by those in the afternoon deepened your moral, ethical and philosophical insights, broadened your attitudes, and, thus, conditioned you for a richer and more fruitful life. As you, members of the 36th graduating class, leave the sacred halls of Yeshiva, the best wishes of the faculty and the administration go with you. I hope that whether you be far or near you will always retain interest in your Alma Mater and her concerns, and I wish each and every one of you farewell in the sense that you may truly fare well. Dr. Isaac Bacon Dean June 12, 1967
