Sophs. The upper half ofthe under elassmen. Having someone to look down on. You know what's going on although you're not al- ways a part ofit. But you manage to get on some ofthe Clubs. Eng- lish Chagim, Hebrew Chagim. This is the year you're a little less scared ofteachers and they're a little more scared ofyou. Changing ofthe gods. Fulda's out --Kamber's in. We advanced from letters to numbers. The curfew tolls the knell of parting day. We come in second place in the Competitive Assembly play, but we win the Alma Mater. We must be doing something right. We take our NEDT's, the lirst taste of college boards . . . Hyde park. We sang all the way there and all the way back . . . .lakie's linal. Red, yellow andA- -are primary colors. Blue is an color. We remember wheh Kalish kicked us out and we didn't want to go so we all got in trouble. Who has lunch 7th period, anyway? The soph weekend was really great. We sang till we were hoarse. Danced till our feet ached. Banged on the tables until our hands hurt. We even put on alittle skit that was sort of silly you couldn't help but laugh. lt was just that kind of a mood , . . Purim. Camelot. Waiting till a soph comes on-and cheering. S-O-P-H-O-M-O-R-E. We really had a lot of spirit. Al assemblies we always sang the loudest. A-S-M-W, All Sophs Must Win. Silver's class was really a riot. Now jist a minute: we got a lot ofthings done. This is tl1e class that will go down in history. Can you imagine really liking a teacher? But we all did . . . Regents. Zeva. Spin. Cramming. Worrying yourselfsick. Freshman Year-A No regents. Sophomorcs The Big Four: Math, History, Bio, Hc- brew. The school is pretty mueh the same. The walls may be a different color. The school still gets llooded every time it rains. And we still have our beautiful lawn that's olf limits. We sometimes have our gym sessions outside now and there's a rumor going around that the boys might move in. This was the year that the A class got a little bit braver: Parshat l-lashavuah 'Vayezeh . The B class got a little bit bored, the C class got a little bit smarter and the D class disap- peared. The changing of the guards Meseh leaves. Enter Rosner. Enter Charnie. Enter admits. Enter headaches. Enter oral book reports. Enter Lewin . . .Jakie and Grossman are still the same but we're used to them now. Lieberman. First aid cards. Not deserving them. Knowing we could never honestly use them . . , We brought in some old stull' we had lying around the house and auctioned it oIl'. lt was crazy but it was fun . , . Not liking the way things are and doing something about it. Like the day the price ofsandwiches went up and we sold our own. 'You think ytiu've got problems and then something happens outside of school and you realize you're not so bad off. . . ISRAEL. The six day war. They fought in Israel, We fought in Washington. The whole school went in the middle ol' linals. I guess we get pushed around a lot. This time we fought back. It's things like this that make you believe that everything you've learned is true. s Q 71' .4
