COMPOSED mostly of the spiritual leaders of community synagogues, the Talmud faculty en- deavors to develop the student's ability to learn without beneht of instruction. Chumash, Nach, and Kitzur Shulchan Aruch are taught in addi- tion to Talmud in the lower classes, while in the higher classes the time is devoted almost exclusively to Talmud. The faculty not only must instruct students in grammar, usage, composition, and American and Eng- lish literature, but also is responsible for preparing students for the College Board and Regents Scholar- ship examinations given in their Senior year.
