PAT lSOM LES ROCHESTER President Vice-President BETTY HENDRICKS DUANE FOX Secretory Sgt. at Arms CLASS OFFICERS Mr. MARSHALL Advisor CLASS HISTCRY As Seniors, our thoughts go back to that September day of l953, when sixty eager, but frightened fresh- men started a seemingly long journey through Yelm High School. ln our Freshman year, we elected as leaders, Nancy Morris, President, Pat lsom, Vice-President, Clifton Coulter, Secretary-Treasurer, and Les Rochester, Sgt. at Arms. In December, we sponsored our first dance, with e Capers, as the theme. ing as Sophomores, the class was under the President, Jim Ismay, Secretary-Treasurer, and nna Kinney, Sgt, at Arms. Our main activity that ar was our Sophomore Hop, Moonlight and Roses, till iourneying higher and farther, we elected, in o Junior year, Lewis Smith, President, Terry Wright, Vice-President, Les Rochester, Secretary-Treasurer, and Clifton Coulter, Sgt. at Arms. Representing our class on the Annual were Nancy Morris and Bill Wheeler. The Junior Prom, Forest Paradise and play, You Can't Kiss Caroline, directed by Mrs. Joy Morrison, were the maior activities of the year. The Thespian Acting :ICG v.V.,v ftzi., ' ip of Les Rochester, President, Clifton Coulter, 'V 10 Awards were given to two of our classmates, Pat lsom, lfirstl, and Carol Morris, lsecondl. To help earn money for the annual, the class sold pop at the ball games. In the fall of 1956, as Seniors, we elected as leaders: Pot lsom, President, Les Rochester, Vice-President, Betty Hendricks, Secretary-Treasurer, and Duane Fox, Sgt. at Arms. Betty Hendricks edited the Tornado News and Carol Morris the annual. Janet Rochester was crowned queen at the annual Homecoming dance. In November, our Senior class play, The Skeleton Walks, was pre- sented, and in February, we held our Senior Ball, Eve- ning in Paris, with Terry Wright and Joyce Grinde, being crowned king and queen during intermission. Through the cooperation of our class, we won tirst place, by collecting T047 pounds of clothing, in the World Clothing Drive, sponsored by the Student Coun- cil. Theresa Bailey took first in the high school's The Voice of Democracy contest. Those in the class who have completed every school year at Yelm are: Gerald Kendall, Terry Vandiver, Terry Wright, Kay Buck, Don- na Kinney, Dallas Edwards, Jim Ismay, Ed Echtle, and Ed Lemoine.
