His father, Frank Prescott Johnson, was born in Waltham, and attended Amherst College. He was a civil engineer, and died in New Haven in 1903. His mother's maiden name was Helen Day Perry, and her home in Worcester, Mass. There are three sons in the family. Lincoln Johnson, 1914 S., and now in the graduate school, is a brother.
