XNILLIAM PIRTLE HEROD, 2D Pirt was born at the American Legation, Tokio, Japan, November 2, 1894. He is the only child of Joseph Rogers Herod, who was born October 8, 1869, at Columbus, Ind., grad- uated from Yale in the Class of 1891 with the degree of B.A., and received the degree of M.A. in 1895.
