1980 Yale ' s 1980 Homecoming featured the very first Queen and King. They were Doris Pochodylo, 1946 Queen, and Bob Min- nie, 1947 King. Our Homecoming theme was Movie Greats. Seniors showed their spirit by winning the coveted Spirit Jug. The Juniors won the float competition using Jaws as their movie theme. The parade led by the marching band began at the south end of town and continued to the park. The football game is al- ways a Homecoming hi-light, and this year we played the New Haven Rockets. Yale lost 14-12, but they played very well and gave our fans an effort that made us all very proud. Half-time activities were filled with excitement as the King and Queen delegates marched up the field. Then a hush came over the crowd and the tension grew; Mr. Dams announced Yale ' s 1980 Queen and King, Koren Edwards and Mike Vinckier. Led by the Majorettes, the band put on a sparkling half-time show using the Rainbow Connection from the Muppet movie as their theme. The day was concluded with a dance held in the High School gym with live music provided by the band Dazzler.
