LIFE IS A REAL BLAST HOMECOMING HOMECOMING The 1980 Senior Representatives were: Amy Fulmer, Jerry Koehn, Koren Edwards, Mike Vinckier, Chris Click, and Scott Watson. The Junior Representatives (op- posite page, bottom left) were: Kathy Reid, Scott Zisler, Diane Mackey, and Jim White. The Sophomore Representatives (op- posite page, bottom right) were Lisa Kean and Bill Mackey. The Freshmen Representatives (oppo- site page, top) were Lisa McLaughlin and Darrin Zisler 6 1980 Yale ' s 1980 Homecoming featured the very first Queen and King. They were Doris Pochodylo, 1946 Queen, and Bob Min- nie, 1947 King. Our Homecoming theme was Movie Greats. Seniors showed their spirit by winning the coveted Spirit Jug. The Juniors won the float competition using Jaws as their movie theme. The parade led by the marching band began at the south end of town and continued to the park. The football game is al- ways a Homecoming hi-light, and this year we played the New Haven Rockets. Yale lost 14-12, but they played very well and gave our fans an effort that made us all very proud. Half-time activities were filled with excitement as the King and Queen delegates marched up the field. Then a hush came over the crowd and the tension grew; Mr. Dams announced Yale ' s 1980 Queen and King, Koren Edwards and Mike Vinckier. Led by the Majorettes, the band put on a sparkling half-time show using the Rainbow Connection from the Muppet movie as their theme. The day was concluded with a dance held in the High School gym with live music provided by the band Dazzler. NEXT IN LINE FALL VARSITY SPORTS GIRLS BASKETBALL Front 1. to r. VARSITY GOLF Senior Tom MacDonald Senior Bill Kimmel Tony Wright All-League First Team The Yale Golf team ended a very successful season with a 14-9 record. The Bulldogs took fourth place in the league with a 10-8 record. This year ' s team was a very young one with three Freshmen and three Sophomores, and only two Seniors. Tony Wright, the team ' s leading golfer, made the first team all-league for the second year in a row. Freshmen Tracy Stanyer was selected to the second team. With a lot of hard work this summer the Bulldogs should be a much improved team next season, maybe even a championship. 66 J.V S ARE WINNERS i-38 rtJPS .. Led by many dedicated and experienced sophomores, the team enjoyed a 5-4 campaign — the best in the last 4 years. Throughout the season they proved themselves as strong as any team they played; only their inconsistency cost them a finer record. Their finest effort came against a strong Armada team which hadn ' t been beaten in 2 years. Though they had lost previously to the Ti- gers, 42-18, the J.V. ' s bore down and punished them 16-0. With an offense that could explode at any time a defense that provided 3 shutouts, the team provided many thrilling games. Next year looks bright for these freshmen and sophomores whose winning attitude was a credit to the school. 67 FRESHMEN Terri Densteadt, Lori Conley, Katy Fur- ness, Patsy Wilkie, Lisa Rector, Lisa McLaughlin, Barb Brown, Theresa Simmons, Kathy Donnellon J.V.
