Stephen Vincent Benet Homecoming 26 Probably no part of the school year creates as much excitement as Homecoming . With the class rivalries between wall decorations and class floats. ..and the pep rally to promote even more spirit for the game, which the Bulldogs won this year,... to the final touch at the Homecoming Dance where Connie Fahey and Mike Halsey were crowned as our Homecoming Queen and King . It surely is a time filled with happy memories. 27 iiai IT The floats were all built in garages with care, in hopes that homecoming soon would be there. That ' s the way Yale ' s Homecoming started. The classes worked hard trying to out-do each other, and in the end, the results came. The juniors took a first place with, When World ' s Collide , over the Sophmores, who came in second with Mash Em . Patton , con- structed by the Fresh- men, came in third. THe Seniors trailed behind in last place with their Cat On A Hot Tin Roof . After a victorious game against Birch Run, (24-0), and the float results, Mike Halsey and Connie Fahey were crowned King and Queen, at the Homecoming Dance held at the Junior High. It was truely a night to remember, and as said by a few par- ticipants, It couldn ' t have been nicer . 29 Varsity Cheerleaders D. Sheardy, J. Hoskins, C. Fahey, D. Sabada, J. McGaw, J. Graves, C. The Yale F.F.A. is made up of a bunch of fine, hard- working kids. They have sponsered many activities, such as; the donkey basketball game, apple sales, and the Christmas tree sale. They are in the progress of rais- ing several hundred catfish also. They raise chickens for a banquet, and they are currently running a heifer chain that helps kids get started in raising the animals themselves . Besides doing hard work, the F.F.A. also partici- pates in such sports as basketball, and baseball against other chapters. So, besides just working the F.F.A. finds time to have fun, and help the community at the same time. Student Secretaries First Row- C. Armstrong, D. Spencer, S. Meddaugh S. Anderson, J. Mooney, A. The Sophomore class at Y.H.S. is a great class. This is a group of happy, energetic people. You can find many Sophomores in the Varsity Club, F.H.A., F.F.A., and many other clubs. These stu- dents know the true meaning of energy. They use it at games, pep rallies and on wall and hall decor- ations . Our class officers have done a good job of planning class activ- ities and partaking in school func- tions . Without the guidance of our advisor, Mr. Carlson, our class wouldn ' t be what it is. Many Sophomore guys partici- pate in basketball, football, track and baseball. The cheerleaders are represented by some very fine girls from the Sophomore class (and other classes also).
