Much Effort Goes Into The 1968 Bulldog introduces you to the wonderful world of the theater and drama. It has been said that drama is the book ol people and that’s what our yearbook is. Our theater is new— Yale High School. Most of our drama takes place here but some scenes are played in the dairy bar, some in the Mem- orial Park. But wherever, we are the characters, the cast. Our teachers and administration play roles similar to those of the director and producer of a play— one makes the production decisions, obtains financial backing for the play; the other works to bring out values and meaning through the actors. The stars, of course, are the Seniors who have had the most experience and therefore take the leading roles in our play. The stage crew is behind the scenes working-clubs, sports, the action, the workers who receive little credit for much work. The people practicing to be actors, the understudy, the apprentices are found in the junior high where they first move from class to class, first have a student council and their own dances. They will soon move up to become part of the cast of the high school. And our last chapter is the pa- trons who support the play with their money and good will. So sit back and look through our drama, the 1968 BULL- DOG.

Creating a New Setting JT 7 • ' X A new theater offers exciting prospects. While the cast is rehearsing in the old school, the builders and carpenters are busy creating the set-new large classrooms, adequate light- ing, new properties. So after a year of practice we moved in- to a theater which was not quite finished. The stage mana- gers, the master of properties, the coaches all have last minute details to check. A trial run, much like taking a play out of town to iron out the bugs before the Broadway opening, takes place. So you can see the contrast-the old, the new; the building, piles of boards, wheelbarrows, empty halls; then Our New Theater Charlie raises the flag, like the curtain rising, and the show goes on. Whether or not the play is a hit depends on the co- operation of the entire ; the producers, the directors, the stars, the cast, the crew and the patrons. And we think that YALE HIGH SCHOOL is a HIT!
