The Wonderful World of the Young 4 . DANCING IN THE DARK Spring Enchantment The Senior Prom, Spring Enchantment, was beautiful this year-complete with a sidewalk cafe, a wishing well and a star studded night. The guest list included many famous names. Entertainment was provided by “The Words.” We were served a lovely luncheon by Mrs. Thomas (a great dan- cer, right?) and Mrs. Weston at the sidewalk cafe. Then back to the dance floor. As usual the Seniors outdid themselves— they have consistently had the best decorations-both for dances and floats. And SPRING ENCHANTMENT proved no exception!

A Good Production Staff Mr. Kells helps set the cornerstone on our new theater of Mr. Jay Eldred, Superintendent of Yale Public Schools, operations. Mr. Franklin Kells is president of the Yale Board of Ed- ucation. Other members are Robert J. Meikle, vice-presi- dent; Ted Molesworth, secretary; Robert H. Bricker, trustee; William J. Fenton, trustee; William M. Reid, trustee; Gary W. Schroeder, trustee. Producers Goals “Education is a Pride; a Goal; a Means to an End; it is ALL things.” Only Education can provide an answer to the ills of society— the Role of education encompasses all things. If we are to properly deal with the basic moral issues of the day— The rights of the individual, so- ciety’s responsibility to all people, the governmen- tal role in our society, and the interpretation of democratic freedom— it becomes increasingly ap- parent that education must prepare us to evaluate and establish those principles which will insure the future. Man’s education cannot be left to chance. The educational system is specialized in the production of people not manpower! If education is to flourish the government and the public have to be convinced that the resources must be found. Only good schools can determine whether the American dream can be fulfilled for all children re- gardless of circumstances. In spite of long centuries of education in his- tory— we are probably on a greater threshold of Frontiership than we have ever seen. Mrs. Bev Brown, Bookkeeper Miss Vera Hoskins, secretary.
