Messages from . . . Milton L. Martin, Superintendent The purpose of education is to assist indi- viduals to adjust themselves to their environ- ment to the end that the most enduring satis- faction may accrue to the individual and to society. My sincere wish is that each of you derive from your life here at Yakima Senior High School the utmost happiness, content- ment and satisfaction. Also, that the influ- ence of your friends and teachers here will be such that you will be inspired to achieve-to appreciate-and to live more intelligently. Our school is a democracy in which every student is a citizen. May your experience as a citizen in school today assist you in your life tomorrow. I hope and know that you will continue to live a life as full of worthwhile endeavor as you have lived while here in school. Rolla S. Goold, Principal As members of the class of 1950 you are to be congratulated for what you have ac- complished. We are proud of your work and hold high hopes for each of you. A span of some fifty years and a new cen- tury lies ahead of you. May you carry out from Yakima High such important qualities as straight thinking and clear vision. You will make good use of these before progress in World Peace is attained. Continue on with same strength of mind and firmness of purpose that you have al- ready shown. We who have had a part in your training watch with interest your progress.
