Uncle Fred insisted on taking Pongo to Mitching Hill--a swburb of London--and since it started to rain, calmly pushed into the nearest home and took over! There they met a beautiful girl, Julia Parker! and Pongio is forced to pretend he is a veterinarian. For Pongo it is lvove at first sight. Wilbur, the obnoxious suitor, arrives. Pongo, because of Uncle Fred's insinuations, seems certain to be sentenced to twenty years of penal servitude. The climax is reached when Pongo has the police pick up two suspicious-looking characters -his rival, Wilbur, and the Judge. Pongvo persuades Julia to marry him and run away to South America. The dance was sponsored by the Central Boosters. A preliminary election was held, at which tive girls, Carol Martin, Iune Curry, lean Beamer, Betty Mallow, and Pat Devoe were named as candidates for queen. The final election resulted in the selection of the queen and her attendants. At the game on Sixty Two Friday the queen was crowned, and you guessed it, it was - - Carol Martin. Bob Spitler, Vice President of the Senior class, crowned Carol as queen and presented a bouqut of flowers to her, corsages were given to the tour maids. At the dance following the game, Presi- dent Dale Hinshaw and Queen Carol led in the grand march, with the attendants and their escorts following. CLASS HI TOP-Y Our introduction to Central High School came in the fall of 1945. The freshman year is one of getting acquainted with Central High and making new friends. We entered the Sophomore class full of pep. We elected as our leaders- Charles Deen and Robert Spitler as President and Vice President. Chick Mc- Mahan took over the pencil part, while Dale Hinshaw guarded the bank. During the year candy was sold in the hall at noon and a dance was spon- sored after one of the football games. Our Sophomore class advisors were Miss Porter and Mr. Marshall. lunior year-so far so good! We realized the job ahead and began work- ing more seriously. Class officers were Dale Hinshaw and Carroll Drummond taking over from their predecessors. Doris Daurn kept the minutes and Chick counted out the money. Mr. Neff and Mr. Patterson guided us through this busy year. Refreshments were sold at all the games to provide funds for the Iunior-Senior Prom. Class rings were ordered-after months of waiting, they arrived, and were we proud! At one of the many dances Chick Mclvlahan was crowned Mr. Central. We presented Big Hearted Herbert as the Class Play with Charles Deen and Cynthia Schick in the leads. School work was forgotten as we worked on the Iunior-Senior Prom which, of course, was the nicest yet. Seniors at long last! We entered our last year with a very small class but still full of pep. Dale Hinshaw and Bob Spitler were president and vice presi- dent for the final year. lune Curry recorded the activities, while Ioyce Wag- ner handled large sums of money. A busy year with the Seniors either responsible for or participating in -dances, class play, concerts, speech activities, Pinafore, contests, and class day. Baccalaureate and graduation day!
