00 The first day at Xavier was the commence- ment of four years that will live eternally in memory. The introduction to higher educa- tion together with a taste of military discipline, did much to raise the spirit of the freshmen, who had won a place within Xavier's ancient halls. As the years passed, knowledge was gained, but that wasn't all. Consideration for the other fellow, a sense of fair play, respect for authority, and a deep sense of loyalty to the school instilled in us the basic elements of good character. 5 5 V We were merely boys on our first day, but as our last day approaches we are men, men ready for commencement. Commencement again? Yes, each end is but a beginning, and we are ready to embark upon another journey, into unexplored fields of still higher education. As we bid a fond farewell to the dedicated men of the faculty, our ioy is tempered with a bit of sorrow. We are also sad to know that this beloved edifice will give way to a new school. However its demo- lition cannot erase the indelible picture estab- lished in our minds. We hope for success in many fields, and feel confident that our start at Xavier will lead to the goals we aim for. We pray for God's help as we do our part.
