ti y.. ...L ,X N Q. -vf' ' li. if :tif A. Seniors Class of 19 60 The year is swiftly coming to a closeg and we. the senior class. the class of 1960 will soon join the distinguished ranks of Xavier graduates. who have forged their way through the dense wilderness of materialism and ungodliness. to leave their brand upon the entangled corruption as respected. intelligent Catholic gentlemen. The world will see us as Xavier's first contribu- tion from the post-war baby boom, and the hope for a better tomorrow. Xavier tradition will remember us as one of the last graduating Classes of the old school. But our most fervent hope is that you. the students of the new Xavier. will remember us as men who worked hard for the honor. training. and strength of Xavier: as well as fellows who have acquired some of that wonder- ful treasure known as the Xavier Spiritf, To you. the students of the new Xavier, the leaders of the new America. we leave the great tradition. which we have tried to maintain and embellish: a regiment which. under your leadership. will continue to honor Mary. Our Mother: and a long list of our trial and error experiences, which we hope will make your path to success somewhat easier. Yet. with these bequeathals. goes also the great and new responsibility of carrying the old into the new by maintaining the rich tradition of the old school. and giving birth to a new. more honored one. Wle are now young men. youthful in age and knowledge. yet mature enough to see the wonderful path of life ahead of us. Our thanks for this gift of opportunity go to our parents. our teachers, and our friends. Vlle also realize that verbal thanks are valued far more highly if accompanied by suitable acts of gratitude. We feel such an act would be the good use of our lives. Therefore. we, the seniors. freely pledge ever to strive to live. not only as men devoted to the betterment of man- kind: but as Catholics. devoted to Cod. the Creator of all. Nlary. the Nlother of men. and the school that is theirs. Xavier.
