Recently, some patrons of America's schools have argued that extra-curricular activities surpass academic work in achieving these results. Basically this is false. The faculty of being able to solve social problems-the largest simple obligation of a future citizen-is only possessed by those trained in the fine art of adeptly using the intellect.
