The call for candidates was enthusiastically answered as twenty-odd Spartans vied for seven starting positions. After three weeks oftrying practice held at Hamilton Park, Kingston, the team took shape. Led by six underclassmen, the Spartans compiled an impressive 1 l-2 record and drove to a second place finish against tough league opponents. Harriet Kornblatt played a large part in the Spartan's success. She finished the season with only one loss and was runner up in district competition. It was a rewarding year for the girls, and the experienced underclassmen returning next year promise hard times for all opponents. Congratulations to Coach Carol Hopson and the team.
