Cross-Countr Commencemenf of The school year was followed swiflly by lhe opening ol lhe l968-I969 cross-counlry season. Following lasl year's line season. This campaign proved disappoinling. The Sparlan road-runners and Coach Brun- ner Iried courageously lo shape a suc- cessful season, bu+ fell somewhal shor'r of The mark, losing lo Meyers and Coughlin in dual meels, and posling one win al lhe expense of G. The fankmen won four meefs and managed a sirong secon.d-place showing af 'rhe Disfricf Meef. Juniors-Bob Hosey, Bill Reese and Milne Mafulconis-also were insfrumenfal. Freshmen and sophomores showed much Taleni and are expecfed 'ro add depfh and sfrengfh nexf year. Compefifion is expecfed fo be much keener nexr year as a new swim league was formed fo encompass schools in The Scran+on-S+oudslourg- Hazlefon Area. We believe fhe Sparfans are ready for fhis com- pefifion.
