P, Vande Brink, At the first meeting of the year the following Girl Reserves were elected to office: President. Bonnie Evartsg Vice President, Louise I-Ioopg Secretary, Del- phine Ottesong Treasurer, Connie Hartman. The year's activities started off with a hang. Initia- tion! New members were forced to wear to school the most ridiculous costumes imaginable. Anything could have happened that day, and very much did. The year's social events were varied. Social activities included several parties and .1 picnic. At Christmas time the girls presented a skit to .1 very grateful audience of crippled children at the Blodgett Home. At the Community RoundsUp the cluh assisted the Senior Girl Reserves in sponsoring the Style Show. Five of this year's juniors had the honor of hecom- ing Ring Girls. Among the many projects and services rendered to the school hy the cluh was the repairing of bleachers and the decorations of goal posts at the home foot- hall games. The group also sponsored .1 soft drink and paddlepop stand at the annual community rounds up. The HifY participated in many activities, including parties at the Y.M.CA., a trip to the Hi-Y cottage at Newaygo, and many Hi-Y conferences. Wlien Eugene Morgan, president of the club, left for service with the Army Air Forces, Eugene Donel- son, vice-president, took over the supervision of the Hi-Y and proved to he as ahle .1 leader as his pre- decessor. Ed Xwynsrna was secretary for the cluh, while Dick Grubhs served as treasurer. ,- JJ
