MEMORIAM LYNDA CAROL ASTON Lynda Aston, August 30, 1937-July 18. 1952. She was drowned at the mouth of the St. Francis Bay. The untimely death of this lovely and talented girl whose high grades showed promise o f valedictory honors, is not only a family but a community loss. JESSE WAYNE BRADLEY Jesse Wayne Bradley, May 18, 1937- February 7. 1953. He was killed in a hunting accident. Jesse Wayne took advantage of his op- portunities. He was dependable, en- joyed school and contributed much. His hobbies were hunting and fishing and he lost his life at one of his favorite pas- times. These two students were sophomores in the Wynne High School of the 1952-53 school year.

BLACKMON BANQUET Mr. Donald E. Blackmon, former Super- intendent of Wynne Public Schools and the newly appointed Assistant State Commissioner of Education for the state of Arkansas, and his wife were honored with a dinner promoted by the men of the Wynne Faculty on Friday evening, January 23, at the High School Cafeteria. Approximately one hundred guests made up of the school personnel, past and present school board members attended. Mr. Ben Home, a former school board member, served as toastmaster. Talks re- viewing the progress of the Wynne System during the seven years of Mr. Blackmon's administration were given. Mr. D. D. Martin, principal of the Elementary Schools, spoke for the administration. Miss Eugenia Rives, high school counselor, represented the High School. Coach Roy Littlefield reviewed the athletic program. Mrs. Rubye Kellogg paid tribute for the Elementary schools. Mr. James Gardner represented the board. Mr. Jake Wiltshire, an ex-board member, presented the parting gift, a silver service. Harriet Byrd, a senior, furnished the din- ner music. Mrs. O. Lowrey, cafeteria su- pervisor, and her staff prepared, and with the assistance of several home economics students served the dinner. The theme, Progress Is the Way of Life, was carried out in the placecards that had drawings of the High School and the Arkansas State Capitol.
