DEDICATION Members of the Class of '56 I want to express my appreciation for the honor you have bestowed upon me. I feel very humble, but proud, I assure you. Proud that I had the privilege of serving so talented a class. I shall never forget the wonderful times we had working together, both in class and in performances. I realize there were times when you probably thought I was a slave driver, but I only wanted to bring out the best in you and you as a class never failed me, That you have remembered me makes me feel that my efforts were not in vain. I hope you will feel free to call upon me to serve your needs as you see fit during your remaining school days as well as when you go out into 1ife's school. We have laughed. played and worked together. Some of you have discussed more serious moments with me and per- haps it was your class in which I said, No matter what your status in life, a bootblack or the president of the U.S., be the best of what ever you are. Well, kids, here is my picture. You asked for itl God didn't put the most beautiful lines in my face but I assure you, he put into my heart the deepest love for every girl and boy. What more could I ask? My earnest prayer has always been this: Oh God, I care not for riches or fame, I'd rather receive the name of having guided some child from wrong to right. That I might go to sleep at night, knowing that I gavethebest of what I had. Yes, just that would make me glad. Now may I wish the best of luck to all of you and Ihope to keep in touch with each of you for many years to come. Sincerely, Inez A. PRINCIPAUS MESSAGE To the Graduation Class of 1956--I have known all of you for just a brief time, but af I feel that each and everyone of you will remember your high school as the best plaoe f you have ever worked, played, and maybe relaxed a little when all your work was com- ,--- pleted. You are in the term of a person who loves his work--MY CHILDREN. You ,9-'- Judy Young I will remember as a cheerleader who loves the excitement of a good ball game. You Jim Cruse the only boy student who has the ability to make a good bookkeeper and secretary. You Roberta Puyear the shorthand student who can read perfect to herself. And you Darlene Cass the quiet and reserve girl with all the manners that anyone would want in a lady. You Bill Patterson the per- fectionist of the whole Senior Class. You Bob Stout the boy who wanted to rush things and grow up in a hurry. You Burton Conklin the student who never seems to hurry, but always gets it done. You Gordon Jarvis with the personality that will take you wherever you want to go. You Jerry Hochstatter the football player with a lot of gray matter. You Claude Moreland and the time you have put in on basketball. You Charlene Catton the one person that will always be a willing worker. You Nancy Alvey the girl who made it and still had to stay home and take care of things. You Joan Sapp the girl who had to carve a place of her own, and did over all of them, You Joyce Dean the only red head that was quiet but knew what she wanted for the future. You Patsy Hamrick and Sarah Wyatt the two girls who have been close friends from the time l knew you until graduation. You Opal Kinnamon the determined business education student. You Nancy Parker the hall monitor of several years. You Bob Noe the student that had chicken pox and had a lot of make up work to do. You Max Baker the boy who made it through the senior year. You Bob Burdick the boy who came out for football the last year and showed great promise. You Barbara Mount who finally found your self the last year at school and took part in everything. Last but not least Sharon Meisel, the pusher in the 'whole class, you were the spark plug for all of them. You are graduating and going into the world where excuses will not be detention halls, makeup will be impossible, and your mistakes will cost you in happiness and comforts of life. How will you respond to this treatment? I will only say this to each and every- one of you--You have built the foundation of life, I hope carefully. We as the teacher have been a deciding factor in the building of that foundation. The house of life is never finished for anyone until they depart from this world. May this last thought be my guide to you for the future.
