For a greater portion of the school year the band rehearsed for the Little Eight music festival which was held in Wyanet. But dur1ng the proposal, the Professor's wife heard him, and then everyone found out. Egmrly had to confess to Bert, but when Bert found out there was no out of town surtor, he forgave Emily and then made the pro posal himself to Emily. At the begrnmng of the season, our football Coach, Merrrll Duffield, was hurt on a hayrack party glven by the Iurnor Class. He had both ankles broken and had to be out ofschool for several months. He was replaced by Jack Churchrll, who recerved 12 letters rn hrgh school and attended the U. of I. , where he made numerals ln football and track before he went to war. He played football, basketball, baseball, and track for three years rn servrce. After gettrng out of servrce, Mr. Churchrll played one year of football at Western State before mcurnng an xnjury that put hrm on the shelf. The unknown quantity for the year seems to be in the mile since at least four good men are back. Making a quick survey of the material as listed above, everything points to a young but prom- ising track team, showing improvement over football and basketball of this year.
