Agatha Tan American Field Serviceteen-agers abroad are concerned with one major purpose: to further their understanding of foreign lands. There are two phases of this program: The Summer Program and the School Program. Summer students live with host families through July and August while school progrfm students live there and attend school for either one term or a full year. These students are selected on a national basis. Wyandotte now has four semi-finalists, Peggy Englebrake, Roy Holliday, Bette Kella, and Gene Locke, who are competing for placement in the summer exchange program. Agatha Tan, our - exchange student from by Gale Wright A Mr. Gunther Paj ek Singapore, stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.V., DeNota throughout the school year. Agatha's main activities included Kay Cees, International Relations, Drama Club, and Girls' League Repre- sentative. Included in her schedule of classes were advanced art, American Histroy, English 12, French I, and typing. Mr. Gunther Paj ek of Austria, who exchanged teaching positions with Mr. Frank Keppler, had two classes of German I, two classes of German II and taught first hour at Junior College in Kansas City, Kansas. We are proud that Wyandotte was able to participate in the exchange program this year. The season started on October 12 with the debaters traveli.ng to Topeka West. At College High tPittsburgJ, Peggy Englebrake and Sharon Anderson received a fourth place trophy. Later at Seamen tTopekaJ, these same two obtained a second place trophy.
