, , 5 4 The scenes it heholds as the days roll by and the years, and now a quarter of a century has passed. In 1937 .... . . . . students passed through the doors of Wyandotte High School for the first time. We remember 1937 for the birth of this building at its present site, 25th and Minnesota, as a result of the complete destruction by fire of the old building at 9th and Minnesota. The present structure, costing approxi- mately two and one-half million dollars, and its distinctive campus covers an area of 22 acres. It is one of the largest schools in the Middle West. Taking almost two years in construction, the new school can accommodate 3,000 students and a fac- ulty of 90. There are 85 classrooms, including twin cafeterias. The gym seats 1,900, while the auditorium, one of the best in the United States, seats 1,800. Our library contains 18,000 volumes. We can also be proud of Wyandotte's exterior appearance, with its stately twin towers, These tow- ers, which can be seen from far and near, truly symbolize Wyandotte. The landscaping is one of thoughtful planning, thus giving us one of the most beautiful high school campuses to be found any- where. We are proud of Wyandotte's achievements in education, leadership, and sportsmanship these past twenty-five years. Wyandotte at its best, displays its grandeur to all, not just a building but a friend.
