Design for Living is a club formed to stimulate and encourage independent thought and analytical discussion. This is done through reading of classic literature, political essays, current magazines and plays. Each meeting is form- ulated around a question for discussion which ties in with social and political problems facing the world today. The Szw,7 moderators for each meeting are chosen from universities and colleges of this area, lawyers, ministers, and outstand- ing members of the community. -, The club is under the sponsorship of Miss Mildred Norman, and the president is Jay Deane. 0 By Sarah Gail Lynn STANDING, left to right: Miss Norman, Joy Laster, Linda Felber, Barbara Chauvin, Joyce Shirley, Judy Baird, Carol Frazier, Sarah Gail Lynn, Rosemary Fry. The Story Telling Club was newly formed this year under the sponsorship and direction of Miss Mildred Nor- man. It has been formed as a service club to help stimulate a love of reading in grade school children through the old art of story telling. The club also gives experience to stu- dents going into the field of children's work such as teach- ing, writing or summer recreational work. During the school year the group has made many field trips telling stories in local grade schools. John Fiske, Roosevelt, Park- er and Mark Twain, were some of the schools visited. Of- ficers fot this year were: Becky Goodbar, president, and Karen Ford, secretary.
