The Splash Club is composed of the more experienced swimmers, and members of the B Club become Splash Club members after one year. Each club meets once a week throughout the fall and spring months, have Life Saving and Water Safety Instruction as an annual project, and have a Swim Show as a bi- annual activity, The Splash Club tries to become more skilled in the synchronized phase of the sport, which is combining strokes and stunts to form rhythmic patterns in the water. Swimming to music is a favorite pastime of both groups. The officers of the Splash Club are president, Brenda Burton, vice-president, Pat McGinnis, and secretary- treasurer, Eugenia Mangelsdorf. At least once a week each girl is scheduled to participate in some event, such as baseball, sacker, tennis, badminton, volley- ball, basketball, and various other games, depending on the season. By these after-hour ac- tivities each girl is given an opportunity to earn 1,400 points. A gold W is awarded when this goal is reached, which is the highest honor that any girl can achieve in Wyandotte sports. Next in honor comes the large W letter, awarded when the total of 1,000 points have been made, an award of which to be very proud. Sponsored by Miss Helen Barnett, the officers are Marilyn Birge, president, Mary Lou Bitner, secretary, Brenda Burton, vice- president. D if Page 2 5
