Any high school girl may be a member of the Horizon Club, a continuation of the Camp Fire Organization. The purpose of the club is to make friends, improve personality development, and to give service. The service projects this year were planned around the National Project, Together We Make Tomorrow. The sponsors are Miss Smither, Miss Mettlen, Miss Hardman, and Miss Norman. M 20116 by Bonnie Goode Every girl at Wyandotte is welcome to join the Y-Teens, a Junior branch of the Y. W. C. A. It has approximately l5O members this year. The selling of pencils, on which are printed the football and basketball schedules, and the presentation of the Lenten serv- ices in Recital Hall four days preceding the Easter vacation are two of its many services to the school. An outstanding project of the Y-Teens was the giving of two hours service to Bethany Hospital from each member. Officers for this year were Virginia Gillett, presi- dentp Dixie Lee Saunders, vice-president, Pat Morris, secretary, and Clara Sue Goode, treas- urer. Sponsors are Lavina F. FRONT ROW: Jackie Sue Thorp, Pat Miligan, Sue Bradley, Brenda Burton. by Judy Hubbard The Splash Club and the B Swimming Club, directed by Miss Ardis Hill, are extra-curricular activities made possible ,for the girls at Wyandotte by our fine pool, These clubs are composed of girls interested in furthering their swimming and diving abilities, and membership is ob- tained by tryouts. The Splash Club is composed of the more experienced swimmers, and members of the B Club become Splash Club members after one year. Each club meets once a week throughout the fall and spring months, have Life Saving and Water Safety Instruction as an annual project, and have a Swim Show as a bi- annual activity, The Splash Club tries to become more skilled in the synchronized phase of the sport, which is combining strokes and stunts to form rhythmic patterns in the water. Swimming to music is a favorite pastime of both groups. The officers of the Splash Club are president, Brenda Burton, vice-president, Pat McGinnis, and secretary- treasurer, Eugenia Mangelsdorf.
