To wear a Student Council pin is an honor given only to the one student elected from his homeroom to serve as a representative. Responsi- bilities consist of collecting money and selling tickets as well as other duties. Activities sponsored by the Student Council were two mixers after athletic games, the lost and found Service, dancing in the cafeteria during lunch time, the collection at Thanksgiving plus other charitable drives, and helping with the Homecom- ing Dance. This year's officers were elected for the first time by the upperclassmen. They were: Dean Newton, president: Dan Sheley, vice-president: Jerry Lewis, secretary: and Bill Tarry, treasurer. SOPHOMORES Being the largest class at Wyandotte is something to be proud of. Sophomores had an enrollment of 390 boys and 369 girls, and they are looking forward to their Junior year when they, too, will be considered upper- classmen. Officers elected were: president, Earl Cowher, vice-president, Alan Sheley, secretary, Cindy Vaughan, treasurer, Elaine Haines. Helping to make this year o success was their sponsor, Mrs. Yvonne Turner. Left to Right: Elaine Haines, Cindy Vaughan, Alan Shel- ey, Earl Cowher, Mrs. Yvonne Turner. CLASS OFFICERS by Kathy McCaughe ,7 ,fr ,wif , fi. ,ffjjfly lil! l t?yff'ffl,i7f of lf ol X jf JUNIORS Sponsoring our future leaders of 1957, consisting of 586 pupils, was Mr. Robert Walton. They were repre- sented by these officers: John Redick, president, Dave Chelesnik, vice-president, Dorothy Bogdanowicz, secre- tary, and Barbara Welburn, treasurer, who lead them to their long awaited senior year. Two of the most important events were the selection of class rings and the receiving of the traditional robe from the senior president, which symbolized the passing of authority and responsibility to the Class of 1957. Left to Right: Mr. Robert Walton, John Redick, Dave Chelesnik, Dorothy Bogdanowicz, Barbara Welburn, FRESHMAN Although the smallest class with a total of 385 stu- dents, the boys outnumbering the girls by 13, Freshman enthusiasm overshadowed their small number. Sponsor was Mr. Lester Cross and officers representing the class were: Bob Kent, president, Felice Miller, vice- president, Vicki Kapnick, secretary, and Connie Salley, treasurer. With three years ahead of them, the Fresh- men will prepare to become the leaders of 1959. Left to Right: Mr. Lester Cross, Bob Kent, Felice Miller, Vicki Kapnick, Connie Solley.
