, ,The sky is both future and past, both life and death. ,• Kohoutek is life, for like Kohoutek (seen oroy for a relatively short time) is life which is lived for a short time then fades into the future as if swallowed up. The black is infinite, the light temporary. I am Kohoutek—soon I must go. the sky; be seen. outek, Tor unlike me you can leave no Wyalusing Valley High School Wyalusing, Pennsylvania Editor-in-Chief Sue wheel Adviser Richard Yadlosky Foreword Well, everybody, here it is—Wyalusing Valley High School Vallian. We didn’t think we would be ready in time, but we knew we had to keep going and succeed. There were times when we were not sure of what to do or how to do it—we wondered if we would ever understand. There were times when we became angry at our fellow workers—we didn’t like their ideas and thought our own were better. There were times when we wanted to give up and say, “We won’t make it, let’s quit.” And there were times when we questioned the purpose of our work and what we were trying to achieve. Does anyone really obtain anything from their Yearbook or is it just a picture book to see how many pictures a person can find of himself? You could compare the putting together of our Yearbook to any life situation. At sometime or other, everyone asks the questions we asked. I don’t think there is one specific purpose of our Yearbook. Each person reading it will interpret the book in his own way—who is to say if his interpretation is right or not? We have produced the book, now you search for the purpose. 2 3 Foreign Exchange Student When I arrived here, I was prepared to have a good experience but hard at the same time. I also thought I was going to meet people that weren't very hospitable. However, since the first day I was happy here and it was never hard for me because I live with a lovely family. Besides, instead of cold people, I met the nicest people I’ve ever met. That’s why I love you so much, and because you are authentic and very friendly. I’m very grateful for the year I'm having and tell you how happy I am to be here. Because of this, I'm never going to forget Wyalusing Valley High School, my school, and all my wonderful friends here. The only thing I hope, is to be able to come back some day to this wonderful country and see all of you again. In Memoriam Gregory Bacon June 4,1974 203 Peace of Mind Listen all people wherever you be It's time you admit that your mind should be free Like birds that soar across the sky It’s time you start thinking and give it a try It's time you start asking and wondering why Why you're Wind in the mind but not in the eye Look forward to morning and maybe you’ll find A new day with challenge will bring peace of mind If you learn from life and mistakes as well However you learned that it's senseless to yell For in order to achieve your own peace of mind The answer's not yelling J to people ar lughts and what yd For life is too short to be wasted away On frivolous talk and running astray For your own peace of mind is where And all it takes is one honest chat A chat with yourself, get into your head If you gain peace of mind, You're one step ahead.
