As you turn these pages, you will find a pictorial history of the 1972-73 school year including the students, faculty members, sporting events, dances, banquets, clubs and organizations. Not only is this a book of the school year, but also a book of the enjoyment received from participating in extracurricular activities such as field trips, band trips, senior's trips, and on the job training courses. In addition to these fun-filled memories, we must also remember how hard everyone worked to achieve their goals in life. We, as a group, hope that the Vallian will supply its purpose by bringing back many memories of the past. 3 Alma Mater In the Wyalusing Valley On the Susquehanna shore. Stands our noble Alma Mater; Sing its praises ever more. May thy colors wave forever, As the coming years unfold; Hail to thee, Wyalusing High, Hail to the green and the gold. 4 Vallian Staff ADVISOR Richard Yadlosky EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Rose Marie Woodruff TREASURER Sue Wheel LAYOUT 4 Rose Marie Woodruff - Editor Janet Navarro Yvonne Wilcox Linda Eberlin Lynn Day PHOTO Bruce Hoffman John Nystrand Bill Emery Tim Reinhart Rich Durland Ray Tyler - Editor TYPING Jody Campbell - Editor Janet Navarro Linda Crawford Flora Turner SALES Lois Broschart Wanda Way - Editor Debi Bullock Jackie Singer ART Flora Turner - Editor Cathy Teel David Hoyt Joe Couch ADVERTISING Jackie Singer - Editor June Champluvier Debi Bullock Linda Eberlin Jody Campbell Flora Turner Wanda Way Kathy Peterson Lois Broschart COPY Tammy Blaine - Editor Wendy Beebe 5 Dedicated to: Mr. Allen Adams Vallian 1973 The 1972-73 school year marks the Eighteenth Anniversary of the Vallian. Over the years the Vallian has been dedicated tofaculty, prominent members of our respective communities, coaches, and v arious individuals who have contributed educationally above and beyond the call of duty. The Vallian Staff selects for 1972-73 to dedicate Volume 18 to one, we feel, who has served above and beyond the call of duty. He is first a teacher - dedicated, industrious and enlightening. He is an advisor, counselor, and faculty colleague. He has served Wyalusing High School as an instructor since 1966. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees. He is a past advisor to the Vallian, and an alumnus of Wyalusing Valley High School - the class of '58. He is ... Mr. Allen Adams. To come to another country and not know anybody is sometimes not very easy; but for me, the first day I came to this school, it seemed that I had known you since far back. It certainly has been the most wonderful year ever, and one reason is because I've made wonderful friends here in WVHS. My stay has given me many unforgettable memories from our school. I love everyone of you and I will never forget how pleasant you have made my stay in U. S. I hope you always stay as nice and friendly to everybody as you have been to me. Idon'tknow how to find words to explain how much I want to thank you for this year. At least I can say; If you ever come to Sweden, my door will always be open for you. I will miss you. When I first came here I thought I landed in a totally different world, far away from my world at home. During this one year here I got the opportunity to see lots of interesting places, to live with a nice family, to visit a good school, to make many friends, and to learn many things. I learned and lived many aspects of life in Wyalusing. This showed me that we aren't too different, even if you are American and I am German. We all should try to see and live that way. Many thanks to all of you. ©■Wc $aeA tr- Bernd Bachner YFU - Exchange Student from the Federal Republic of Germany” (West Germany) 8 Rose-Marie Pihlqvist from Sweden ADMINISTRATION Tenderly now let all men turn to the earth Nancy Newhall Board of Education Thomas Champluvier — Treas.
