S ring Sports Gymnastics Coach Marlene Verny led the 1974-75 Gymnastics Team through a successful season during the school year. Edna Lugo showed the way for the other gymnasts and had a remarkable season even though she suffered a bad day when Wurzburg hosted the All Ger- many Gymnastics Finals in April. As the pictures on this page show, Wurzburg's gymnasts showed good form in the major events: balance beam, uneven parallel bars, and free exercise.

164 Ck The 1975 Wiirzburg Track Team fat LEFTJ was composed of Sabina john, Tony Bauer, Ron Roberts, Andy Bland, jim Garcia, Allen Mauney, Dave Edwards, Tony Redman, Greg Holditch, and Duane Fuller. Although the season record could have been better, Wiirz- burg came in second in team standings in a quadrangular meet with Berlin, Bad Kreuznach and Bremerhaven. Coach Szczpanik's squad also managed some third place team finishes during the season. As one team member said, We were small but we did the best we could. Duane Fuller led the team with several wins in the discus and shot put. His longest discus throw was the best in Europe for the season. iw 3 aw 4, if. far an Wm. 166 Dance Concert Ms. Verny's Dance Class presented an interpretation of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bellsg An Epic of Man at the Leighton Theater in March. The entire program was directed and choreographed by Ms. Verny with some of the solo numbers choreographed by the dancers themselves. The program was a success not only in Wurzburg, but, because of its quality, was performed in several other places in Germany. Tubular Bellsg An Epic of Man traced the path of man through life from conception to death and included many aspects of life.
