Barn On Original Site Allyn Hall, named in honor of Stanley C. Allyn, who, with Robert S. Oelman, served as co-chairman of the combined University Building Fund campaign. The second phase of the construction program, Oelman Hall, was completed in 1966, and houses research laboratories, special scientific facilities, and a five hundred seat amphitheater. The largest building on the campus is Millctt Hall, named in honor of Dr. John Millctt. Chancellor of the Ohio Board of Oelman Hall A few miles east of Dayton is a tract of land recently annexed to the city of Fairborn. Only five short years ago these six hundred and eighteen acres were rolling pastures. But in 1963 this pasture land was broken and construction began on one of Ohio’s newest and most exciting centers of higher learning. Opening its doors in 1964, the Dayton Campus of Miami and The Ohio State Universities, offered higher education opportunities to personnel affiliated with Wright Patterson Air F'orcc Base and residents of the Miami Valley. The first students at IVayton Campus attended classes in Allyn Hall Regents, formerly president of Miami University. It contains an outstanding library complex in addition to numerous class- rooms and lecture halls. The Science and Engineering Building, the newest campus structure, has been named Fawcett Hall, in honor of Dr. Novice Fawcett, President of Ohio State University.
