We the Senior Class of 1963 of Wright City High School, Wright City, Missouri, being of sound mind, set our hand and do declare that this is our last will and testament and ask the recipients to accept what we pass on in the same spirit in which it is given. First, to the faculty, we will our hair-brained, noisy ways, and torn books. To the Freshmen, we will the wads of gum (which can stand some more chewing if carefully removed from under the desks and tables). To the Sophomores, our ability not to get along with our fellow classmates. To the Juniors, our old books for a period of one year, except when members of the class flunk, the period is extended to such time as necessary. I, Dolores Messerly, will my alert and interested expression to Dannelle Gaffney. I, Wilfred Ostmann, will my hot Plymouth and my driving ability to Ralph Harrington; he needs it! I, Irma Abrolat, will my ability to type for coach and ability to stay slim to Ann Kreuger. I, Charles Mozee, will my ability to play the tuba in band to Sari Mozzano next year. I, Bobbie Summerlin, will my old downtown permits to Wesley Jaspering so that he can ride the fire truck anytime the fire whistle blows and not have to stop at the office for one. I, Richard Ramey, will my ability to do math and get out of work to Carl Held. I, Dennis Brakensiek, will my honesty at operating the F.F.A. concession stand to any student it may concern. I, Bill Wood, will my geometry book to anyone smart enough to read it. I, Linda Rudd, will my ability to go steady steadily longer than any girl in my class to Sheila Vessels. I, Ruth Bradshaw, will my ability to stay out of trouble to Tom Martin. I, Mary Lee Uthoff, will my lunch hour parking spot to Shirley Helvey. She likes blue Fords too! I, Virginia McCoy, will my seat at the scorekeepers table to Jim Reeds. Maybe that will keep him in the gym and off the floor during the game. I, Martha Brinkmann, will my daily tardy excuses to David Vogt. I, Judy Burns, will all my scrap paper in fifth hour study hall to Mike Quinn and hope he can improve his shots there. I, Kenneth Webbink, will my ability to keep my mouth shut to Barbara Brinkmann and John Prior. I, Pearl Owens, will my ability to play basketball to Ralph Harrington. I, Edward Buddy Ockel, will my quiet and shy ways to Betty Nadler!! I, Phil Hunt, will my ability to get through school without lifting a pencil to Eugene Henke. We hereby appoint the Junior Class of 1963 executor of this will and stipulate they shall not have to post bond nor proof of security. Signed_______Senior Class of 1963 Signed before me a Potary Nublic in and for the State of Confusion on this the 33RD day of MISTAKES, 1963. My sentence expired (thank goodness) yesterday. (Any resemblance of the above to the actual thing is purely accidental..but naturally.) 17 Of the graduating class of Wright City High School, Wright City, Missouri, 1963: I, Omar, am the manifestation of the wandering spirit of countless departed Seniors. After searching under tables and interviewing other fakirs, agents of the 1963 class looked three times over their right shoulder and took two salt tablets to make contact with me—Omar. Now as I sit here, lights turned low, and as the panorama of past, present, and future flit past, I see this class sitting on a stage in a new auditorium at WCHS. The ravages of time has been harsh with some, false teeth, hair dye, toupees and extra pounds, but still the same class. Let's see if an adjustment can be made to see what the date is. Ah! There. An office, a spry, white haired man is sitting at a desk looking at a calendar with the date May 18, 1983 circled. On the desk is a sign, Fraser C. Small, Superintendent of Schools. The picture of the aging class of '63 slowly fades away and in its stead are seen the following press releases captured by the mystic powers of the crystal ball............ Mrs. Pos I. Tively, the former Miss IrmaAbrolat, private secretary to H.G. Gottlotta of Gottlotta Doughh, will leave immediately for Hong Kong and Bombay. Ruth Bradshaw has announced the opening of her third Secretarial School in the Bradshaw Building at the corner of Ashhurst and Vine in downtown Wright City. Space View Resort Director, Martha Brinkmann, is interviewing prospective clients for her Resort Employees Training Schools operated in Bombay, Paris, and San Francisco. Dennis Brakensiek stopped to attend the dedication of the Wright City auditorium and gymnasium enroute to the Missouri Breeder's Association meeting. THE WEARY EYES OF OMAR LEAK TEARS OF PURE JOY, THE BLOOMING CLASS DID GET PLACES! Charles Mozee, owner of Mozee Space Wires Inc., was principal speaker of the MWA Electrical Manufacturers, whose offices are located in the Truesdale section of Wright City. William Wood, engineer; Wilfred Ostmann, veterinarian; and Richard Ramey, eminent electrician, have joined forces in establishing the firm of Animals Machines Inc. They will do exploratory and corrective work in animal rehabilitation. Kenneth Webbink, inventor and farmer, will be the principal speaker at the Inter- national Scientists Conclave to be held in Sweden, in August. Mr. Webbink will leave for Sweden in the middle of June and vacation in Europe prior to the Conclave. At the old age of 30 plus, Pearl Owens, former basketball ace of WCHS, will appear with the American Space Aces basketball team which plays basketball all over the world. Mrs. I Gotta Runn, formerly Miss Mary Lee Uthoff, and Mrs. U.R. Toomuch, formerly Miss Virginia McCoy, have returned for the ceremonies at WCHS. Mrs. Runn and Mrs. Toomuch have been connected with Beauty in executive capacities and are opening the M M Consultant Offices. Mrs. U.R. Nurtz, the former Miss Linda Rudd, will return to attend the reunion. It will be remembered that Mrs. Nurtz met her husband while attending college at Kirksville. The socially prominent Mrs. Cal Amity, the former Miss Judy Burns, has become very interested in politics and has announced her intentions of filing for Senator. Miss Bobbie Summerlin, has resigned her position with Global Airlines to become the bride of Abs O. Lutely, owner of the airlines. Dolores Messerly, remembered for her delightful portrayal of Toni, the vagabond girl of Wilderness Pride, has retired from the stage and will Devote my time to my family. She will be in Wright City for the reunion of her class and the dedication cere- monies. Phil Hunt of the Hunt Oil Exploration Company has announced the opening of an office in Wright City. Mr. Hunt and Mr. George Kraft are partners in the booming Wright City field. Edward Buddy Ockel will bring several of his technicians here for the ceremonies to give full coverage of the activities. Mr. Ockel inaugurated News Coverage and it is recognized internationally as one of the best. Omar can feel vindicated of all past errors--if this isn't just another ridiculous mistake. Did he actually see these things or were those press releases the result of the same thing that caused him to be a spirit in the first place???????????????? Ray Bochmer ................. J-f t cj I School fanned f rotjreiS Wright City High School has been named First Award Winner of a one day educational field trip in the annual Planned Progress High School Program held December 12 at the Fort Zumwalt High School in O'Fallon, according to Missouri Edison Company, sponsors of the program. Six high schools entered. They were: Augusta, Fort Zumwalt, Francis Howell, Warrenton, Wentzville, and Wright City.. The students from Wright City chose Option no. 3 which was an industrial economic sur- vey. They gave facts and figures obtained from their businesses and leading citizens as to how much money is available to industries interested in locating in Wright City and what the town has to offer such an industry. The Freshman Citizenship Class, instructed by Fraser C. Small, was represented by Sharon Brakensiek, Billy Linnenbringer, Paul AnisHanslin and James Furness. The Honorable Judge Webster Karrenbrock and Dave Harrison of the Missouri Power Light Legal Department acted as judges. They said that the excellent presentations and exten- sive work done by all six schools competing in the program, made their job of selecting a win- ner a most difficult one. 58 Lincoln Memorial I bet that smarts.
