We initiated the freshmen and gave them a party in the evening. We will always remember our Junior year, our sponsor was Miss Mary Neer. Our class play was Hillbilly Courtship , we had wonderful times practicing. We worked very hard on our Junior-Senior Prom, which was Song of the lsland . We lost one making a total of six- teen. Happily, we entered our senior year, Mrs. Eddie Sheets and Mr. Kreischer were our sponsors. We lost one making a total of fourteen. We worked very hard on our annual the Eagle , We also served at the Farmer's Institute in which we made some money. We selected our class play Good Gracious Grandma. We are now starting practice on it. We hope to have a successful play. Barbara Dudgeon was nominated as our candidate for Peony Queen. The Class Prophecy of 1957 Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Texans, and Fellow W. V.H.S. 'ers, if you want to get away from the dull, dreary, ways of 1957, come spend an exciting evening on the Eagle Queen Showboat. As you board the Eagle Queen, you can see the following former students of the Class of 1957 from dear ole W. V.H.S. First we shall introduce to you the owner and co-owner of the Eagle Queen. Lola Beard is handling the hostess duties for Kenny Smith captain of the entertainment tub. Now as you come onto the deck you see the famous barber, Ronnie Hakes. He is assisted by Doyle Garwood. Ronnie draws the crowd: Doyle opens the door and pushes them in. After you are in, you can check your hats and coats with Barb Dudgeon who sees that your hats and coats are safe from destruction. lf there is any trouble, it will be taken care of by bouncers Dave Myers, Kenny Smith fdoubling on dutiesl and Lola Beard serving as hostess coming and going. And, of course, at the card tables you will see several card sharks. You will see these dealers drifting from job to job. They are Head Dealer Ronnie Lautzenheiser supported by Rudy Salazar, Ronnie Hakes, and Doyle Garwood fRonnie and Doyle come in to assist when the Queen is filled to the railsl. There is no necessity for a captain since this is the finished product of the shop boys of the Class of 1957. No one ever knew what they were doing in shop all through their school years until they went down to the ST. Mary's River to launch the Queen, the only radar controlled entertainment boat in the world.
