Junior Class Play In our Junior year we presented our play entitled Babies Night Out, which was directed by Miss Meeker. All the trouble began when Tommy and Gertie Ranger hired Peep Manville as their baby sitter, Her friends also were baby- sitting that night so Peep called them and invited them over for a party, When Mrs. Harper, Gertie's mother carne along and found all these babies and baby sitters in her daughters living room having a party, she raised the roof and scared all the kids away, They all ran into the bedroom each grabbing a baby and all getting the wrong one, When Tommy and Gertie came' home they learned of the situation and after not too many hours they had their own baby back. Peep had been admiring the Rangers Appolo Radio and Record changer and had always wanted one so the Rangers gave her theirs and forgave her for all the trouble she caused. Junior - Senior Prom The 1955 Junior-Senior Prom was held in the school gym, May 13th, The theme was Evening in Paris. The gym was decorated with red, white and blue crepe paper with stars for decoration. Three Cafes were decorated with brick paper and were decorated with flowers inserted in the wall front, The servers were dressed as Chefs: and wore white aprons and towels on their arms along with their dress clothes. After the program and banquet we all enjoyed dancing to the music of Speck Heble and his orchestra, Senior Class News With The Ropes Of The Past We Will Ring The Bells Of The Future was the motto chosen by the Seniors, Red and white were chosen as the class colors and the white Carnation as our flower, Glenn Isenbarger from Springfield, Ohio was chosen to be our Commencement speaker, Reverend Paul Graeser from the Evangelical Reformed Church will give the Baccalaureate sermon. We also made plans for our class trip. We leave Van Wert on May 26 and arrive in Washington on Sunday evening, We will spend three evenings in Washington and will leave for New York the morning of the 30th, We will spend three evenings in New York also and will leave for home the second of .Tune and will arrive in Van Wert the third of June, Plans and the selection of our Senior class play have been made and the play is entitled Wildcat Willie in the Doghouse which is a comedy. Can you imagine what the W basketball games would be lilfe Without cheerleaders? We can't and we don't want to. These girls have done a wonderful job, we think they are the best. This year our yell leaders are Thelma Whitaker, Kay Zinn, Linda Royer, Charlotte Gehres. They were chosen by the student body who sponsors cheerleading on the basis of skill, sports, school attitude, scholarship and standards. The girls lead cheers for all games and pep sessions, and they also make up new cheers for the games. New uniforms were provided for them this year, Thanks a lot girls, for everything. The team is made up of four Seniors and one Sopho- more. We won one game dur- ing the season, We beat Convoy- Union by a large margin. All in all I think the boys have done the best they could but they' still feel deep down that they have let their Wren High School down just a little.. The squad says they could have done just as well as the other teams but they just have their off nights.. The team for the next few years is looking very promising due to many Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen and their experience they have received this year, To them here's hoping and lots of luck. 1 vm., mn
