The guiding spirit in organizing our Wren High School was Peter Fostnaught, who taught at Wren from 1905 to 1914. As all former teachers will testify, Mr. Fostnaught was a true inspiration to all who came under his instruction ln the classroom, he was an excellent teacher. In his pri- vate quarters at the La Rue Hotel, he was always ready to give aid and advice, and in the community he was a valuable member to society. Succeeding superintendents through 1955 are: 1905-1914 Peter Fostnaught 1914-1915 Albert Wistner 1915 1917 Omar Pond 1917-1919 Esta Moser 1919 1920 Mr. Shambaugh 1920-1921 C. N. Skelton 1921-1924 A. D. Wells 1924-1931 C.C.DeI..ong 1931 1932 E.A. Van Atta 1932 1939 E. B. Barker 1939 1942 Charles Shell 1942 1943 Howard Godwin 1943 H. F. Wise History of Our School In 1856, land was obtained for a frame one -room building. The second building was one -room brick structure. A two-room brick building was constructed on the present school site in 1895, and it was here that Wren High School had its beginning in 1905. In 1903 this fW0-1'OOm Strudure was torn down and the old section of our present school house was erected, the newer section having been added in 1928. At fir st there were just two years of high school, the first class graduating in 19075 then in 1916, the State gave its approval for the third year of high school work, and in 1926, for the fourth year of study.
