History Early in the month of September l943,vWren High School welcomed nineteen ill- assorted youngsters to learn their three R's under the supervision of Mrs. Stephen. In our second year, our teacher was Mrs. Stephen, who taught the first semester, and Mrs. Moser taught us the second semester. We lost one and gained one member which still left us a total of nineteen. Our third year teacher was Mrs. Coffelt. We gained two members and lost three making a total of eighteen members. Our fourth year, under Mrs. Cowen, we gained four, which made us a total of twenty-two members. Our fifth year we had Mrs. Rudder as our teacher. We lost two and gained two making a total of twenty-two members. Our sixth year we had Mr. Roop as our teacher. We gained three members and lost seven making a total of eighteen members. Joyfully, we entered our seventh grade year. Our sponsor was Mr. Kreischer. We gained one and lost four making a total of fifteen. Our eighth grade year we gained three and lost one member. We had Mr, Kreischer as our sponsor again. We took our state tests this year. When we registered as Freshmen in high school in September of 1951, we lost one and gained two members. Miss Merten was our sponsor. We were inititated by the Sophomores and were given a party at night. The next year, 1952, we were Sophomores, and of course we were proud that we were no longer green Freshmen . Miss Merten was our sponsor. We attended a hockey game in 'Fort Wayne and we also initiated the green Freshmen . We had a total of seventeen members this year, gaining one. We shall always remember our Junior year, which was very exciting. Our sponsor, Miss Merten, did a wonderful job directing our class play, Antics of Andrew'.' We worked very hard on the Junior and Senior Prom, which was Under Water Fantasy , and we enjoyed every minute of it. We lost one member which left us a total of sixteen. Phylis Weaver was nominated as a candidate for Valentine Queen. In September 1954, we sorrowfully began our Senior year. Miss Merten, our sponsor, left us and Miss Palmer and Mr. Kreischer were our sponsors. We had a total of fifteen members. We worked very hard on our first annual, The Eagle . We made plans for our class trip which everyone is looking forward to. We had a lot of fun working on our class play which Miss Meeker directed. Janet Germann was nominated as a candidate for Peony Queen. Prophecy In the year of 1965, as I gaze into my crystal ball, I can see that the graduating class of 1955 has reached its goal. One of the first I see is Gary Dickson. You cannot turn on the radio to station WSMZ without hearing the most famous singer and guitar recording artist. Gary said he had just spoken to one of our classmates, Jack Custer. Jack is in the poultry business. If you want a good chicken dinner see Happy Jack . I now look into my crystal ball and see that in New York the National Liars Contest is being held. Who is the winner ? None other than Gene Baker for he really told a Whopper. Gene said Kay Poling was also in New York. She is now a Paris model Whom everyone adores. I see that Bob Turner has joined the Marines. He is the best drummer in the band lsester Storm, who has won the Indianapolis SOO race five times, is living in Michigan. 1-le is working for Clair Dudgeon who designs and manufactures his own sport cars. Lester is his head test driver. Connie Hakes is the head nurse in the hospital where Lester spends his time after he has a wreck. I hear that Gene Case is in Alaska. He does a lot of trapping. So far, he has made a fortune at it. Don Brown plays pro basketball for the Dozers. They tried to get Bill Beard to play with them, but he said he would rather stay home and sleep while his wife works. I see that Janet Germann is running for Miss America. It looks as though Janet has 3 Pretty good chance of winning. I also see that Alice Ann Gehres has won an award in New York for the world's best opera singer. Wi
