'!'he atomic experts lsponsors! were Irs Elisabeth lorrison and lies Ora llliott The long term board lstudent coun cil! appointments were leva Zoe Yenter and John lobster Short term members were Arline Barge, Dick Yates, Charles Carson, and Barbara Jewell There were 65 scientists working on our atomic research project Bight of the scientists were in band, ten were members of chorus, three Iieys were on our football squad, and two on the basketball team Ie also gave our first all school PII-'bye The next year, we lost some of our members, which now left us 52 with two new members Our head scientist this year was Russell ling lpresident! with his assistant, James lerritt lvice presi dent! and lblva lastin lsecretary treasurer! keeping our research records Again we had as our experts leponsors! lies Ora llliott and Irs lllsabeth lorrison The atomic board Kstudent coun- cil! was, for the short term, Dick Yates, Don Hiller, large Huff, and Barbara Jewellg the long term was Dorelene floerke and Jack Parsons. Ie had at the beginning of this year 40 old members and four new ones At the Sadie Hawkins Dance, Dick llcltnley and Don lliller were chosen L1'l Abner's Ie had nine members in band, 14 in chorus, six boys went out for football, and six for basketball and nine girls were in Pep Club Heva Zoe Yenter was one of our first team cheerleaders and Barbara Jewell and Jean Bowman were second team cheerleaders Ie gave our class play, 'And Came the Spring' under the direction of lrs lleanor Diss, which was a big success Ie also gave the annual Junior Senior Pros and Banquet, which was also a great success and lots of fun On our last year of research, Allan Coulait lpresident! acted as head scientist, Larry Yibber lvice president! as his assistant, and to keep our last year of records was Jean Bouan Isecre tary treasurer!. Robert Torgny and lllss Evelyn Syring. Ie had left in the group 41 old members, l2 having finished all 12 years of hard work together. Iois Anne Bullard and Dick Yates were chosen Daisy lac and L1'l Abner for our Sadie Hawkins Dance. Don Killer was chosen Hanorary Football Captain and elected president of 'I' Club. Larry Yibber was elected Honorary Basket- ball Captain, and Jack Parsons was elected the Host Valuable Basketball Player. Senior 'I' Club mean Candidate was lava Zoe Yenter. Ie had eight senior boys in football, fra which two, Don Hiller and Jack Parsons, were chosen for All-Stateg and four, Larry Vibber, Don Hiller, Jim lsr- ritt, and Jack Parsons, were chosen All-Conference. le had eleven senior girls in Pep Club, of which Glenda Otta was the preeidentg eight boys in 'I' Club, twelve senior boys in Iuture Par- mers of Anmricag seven in bandg and six members out for basketball. lsry lee Crane handled the editorship of the Atomic Tribune Klrg-C-L1te!, which served to keep atomic scientists infomd of plant happenings. Dick Yates was chosen to be editor of our Annual of Ataaic lnergy. Ie had three senior girls, leva Zoe Yenter, Barbara Jewell, and Jean Bowman, acting as cheerleaders.
