. V. Basketball The starting five of the junior varsity 1969-1970 basketball team was led by guard Eugene Harris, the team ' s playmaker and top ballhandler. George Rolen and Ronnie Doane added punch to the game as the top scorers. Rebounding strength came mostly from Kenny Carter, with Rolen and Doane assisting. Tim Denton and David Arnold, the top defensive players, not only effec¬ tively guarded the Shaker offensive, but frustrated many scoring efforts of opposing teams. When the situation called for substitutes, George Sills, Mark Asbury, and Eddie Louthian were always dependable. Other reserves included Eddie Arnold, Hank Diggs, David Hammond, Johnny Norris, and Johnny Rolen. I. FRONT ROW: David Hammond, Ronnie Doane, Eugene Harris, Tim Denton, Kenny Carter, George Sills. BACK ROW: Johnny Norris, Eddie Arnold, Eddie Louthian, Johnny Rolen, Hank Diggs. II. Coach Davidson with Captain Mike Prater. 95
