Beta Club The R. B. Worthy Beta Club serves the school and it ' s students by upholding high standards of honesty and good citizenship. The Beta Club is a non-profit organization for juniors and seniors who have maintained an A average throughout high school. Besides meeting these academic requirements, members must also exercise worthy character and attitude. During National Education Week, the club presented a play called Twentieth Century Pioneers which pointed out the importance of education in the world of today. OFFICERS: Mrs. Clear, Sponsor; J. FHA The Future Homemakers of America are looking Toward New Horizons as they learn to live useful and satisfying lives at home and in the community, preparing for the time they will be full-fledged home¬ makers. Membership in the club is open to all girls who have taken or who are tak¬ ing home economics and who are interest ed in developing their domestic skills. Club members served as waitresses at several banquets in the community, and built a float for Saltville ' s Christmas parade. As a special school project, the Future Homemakers took turns working in the clinic. Individual members worked to earn various homemaking degrees by carrying out projects which encourage democracy in home and community life, promote inter¬ national goodwill, or further interest in home economics.
