emor ass Hzstory On August 29 l94t thlrty flve frlghtened youngsters troopcd lnto the blg brlck bull 1ng Worthlngton Hlgh Twelve of these or1g1nal thlrty Ilve have been able to trltt to and from the clutches of thelr teachers for twelve years In the second grade Ir1s Hart was confmed w1th us for the next eleven years and Ellzabeth Fullom was added 1n the thlr grade A new g1rl Susan Alexander Jolneo the ranks ln the fourth grade Lols Borders ln the seventh Hershel Sweet and Phll Barnes 1n the nlnth and Marcla Duncan rn the twelfth Although we have shared many Joys we have also had our sorrows In our Iumor year we were saddened by the deaths of two of our members Iames Sherman and Davld Hoffman We have been blessed w1th very capable sponsors and offtcers through our years stnce the seventh grade w1th Mr Warren Hert as seventh grade sponsor and M155 Harrlet Clark as elghth grade sponsor Enterlng hlgh school as Green Freshmen we elected Mlke Iohnson presldent Bob Tackett vlce presldent Kay Woolley, secretary Nancy Ingersoll treasurer and Glnya Waxler reporter w1th Mlss Velma Balley as our sponsor In the tenth grade our flrst year ln the new bulldlng we chose Sally Hlnds for presldent Larry Calvert v1ce presldent Kay Woolley secretary treasurer and Glnya Waxler reporter Mr Ray Evans was chosen as our sponsor At the beglnnlng of our Iumor year Gary Short was elected presldent Ioe D1xon v1ce presrdent Gmya Waxler secretary Mlke Johnson treasurer and Ehzabeth Fullom reporter Mr W H Rowe and Mr Walter Ieffrles capably served as sponsors for thls hectlc year In our flnal year we very wlsely chose Mr Paul Carter and Mr W I-I Rowe as our sponsors to help us struggle through our many declslons Ioe Dlxon was elected presldent Ellzabeth Fullom vlce presldent Sally I-Ilnds secretary Nancy Ingersoll treasurer and Bob Tackett reporter In our four years of hlgh school we have had many excltlng thlngs happen to us A Iumors we selected Rhapsody In Blue for the the theme of our prom In November 1957 we worked very hard and presented our play The Ghost House dlrected by Mlss Hrlda Brackwlnkle Glnya Waxler served as cheerleader ln our Iunlor year Loulse Padgett our semor year and Nancy Ingersoll all four years We had s1x graduatlng varslty basketball players who helped w1n the Greene Co Wabash Valley Prellmlnarles of l958 w1th part1c1pators In baseball and track as well We also had three semor band members and seven Beta Club members As we look back through the years we now reallze all the good thlngs that have happened to us and how grateful we should be 1 . x D 2 . - . , A , . . .
